Music From Free Creek is a 1970 album featuring a diverse range of special guests, some under their real names, some not. They include people like King Cool (Eric Clapton), Todd Rundgren, Linda Ronstadt, Valerie Simpson, Delaney Bramlett, A.N. Other (Jeff Beck), Keith Emerson, Dr. John, and many more. This was originally released on the Charisma label, this is taken from a one-time CD pressing released by Lake Eerie in 2008.

For fans of 70's "supersessions", this one can't be beat. It's a rare CD called "Music From Free Creek". In February 1970, several musicians got together for an organized jam live in the studio, including Linda Ronstadt, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Todd Rundgren, Keith Emerson, Dr. John, Mitch Mitchell, Bernie Leadon, Elliot Randall, Delaney Bramlett, Valerie Simpson, and dozens more. Members of the following bands were there: Traffic, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Utopia, The Eagles, The Byrds, Canned Heat, Buddy Rich Big Band, Woody Herman Band, Ashford & Simpson, Delaney And Bonnie, ELP, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Blood, Sweat & Tears, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Flying Burrito Brothers, Michael Nesmith & The First National Band, Three Dog Night, Janis Joplin, and Neil Diamond. The album was released on the Charisma label in 1973.

The result is very bluesy, funky, sometimes jazzy and always soulful music. Wicked organ solos from Keith Emerson and Moogy; bluesy guitar work from Clapton, Rundgren and Beck (including psychedelic backwards-recorded guitar on at least two songs); funky drums (courtesy Hendrix drummer Mitch Mitchell in some cases); and great vocals, especially from a very young Linda Ronstadt on her two songs. The songs include covers of Beatles, Dylan, Rolling Stones, Edgar Winter, A.C. Jobim, and some blues rock standards. Whether you've heard this on scratchy album for years and want to hear the new remaster on CD (which sounds really good), or especially if you've never heard it before, this CD is a must-have for fans of early 70's music. Interesting, weird artwork by 70's graphic design specialists, Hipgnosis (who also did the classic Pink Floyd albums).

Mind Blowers: Psychedelic Passages Volume One is a compilation album originally released in 1983 by White Rabbit Records. While this was a volume one, only one album was ever released. The music was not officially licensed by any labels who originally released it or who owned the rights then so for all intents and purposes, this is an unofficial release. The strength of the album lead to it being unofficially released on CD by Past & Present Records, which may be the same as White Rabbit, but no one ever says things like this.
