A Broke Down Melody is the 1996 soundtrack CD to the surf movie/documentary of the same name. Released on 14 November, 2006 throughout Brushfire/Universal, it features music by Jack Johnson, Doug Martsch of Built To Spill, Feist, and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder.

This is a soundtrack to a surf film directed by Chris and Emmett Malloy, who have collabrated with surfer/singer/songwriter Jack Johnson for a number of films and soundtracks. Johnson has taken advantage of the opportunities in his career to present to the world the music of his friends, along with some of his own musical interests.
