Paid In Full: The Platinum Edition is the 1998 compilation of Eric B. & Rakim's 1987 debut album, Paid In Full. This is what Universal made before they also came out with a slightly different Deluxe Edition a few years later. Disc 1 is the original album while Disc 2 features different remixes of songs on the album. The Platinum Edition of Paid In Full was released on 27 October, 1998 by 4th & B'Way/Island Chronicles.
Hip-hop has always been a puzzle, and the two-CD "platinum edition" of 1987's classic Paid in Full reestablishes one of the genre's key pieces in proper context by combining the original 10-song tour de force with a companion collection of important remixes. From Eric B.'s Technics terrorism and sampling symphonies to Rakim's soulful, street-smart flow, Paid in Full is landmark science, a Ph.D. effort building on the early theories of New York City legends like the Sugarhill Gang and Grandmaster Flash. By featuring 10 remixes–including Coldcut's "Seven Minutes of Madness" treatment of the title track and the Wild Bunch's "Move the Crowd"–The Platinum Edition also highlights the duo's influence on DJ and club culture beyond the B-boy set.

BASIC Beats Sampler is the 1992 promotional CD released by the short-lived HollywoodBASIC, a hip-hop subsidiary distributed at the time by Disney. It features early tracks by Raw Fusion, Organized Konfusion, one of the first remixes done by DJ Shadow and two songs by Queen "ruined" (remixed) by producer Rick Rubin.

This is a compilation from HollywoodBASIC, a hip-hop subsidiary of the Disney-based Hollywood Records created by the late Dave "Funken" Klein. The CD is a sampler of the artists who were signed to the label, and of artists to be. The two Queen remixes were meant to be for a full Queen remix project that never came to be. At the time, Hollywood Records had obtained rights to reissue Queen's albums, and the HollywoodBASIC people felt it would be a good idea to play around with their new acquisition.

The uncredited tracks above are interludes consisting of phone messages, audio taken from video recordings, and radio commercials that was a hint of the spirit that was HollywoodBASIC.
